ERIE, PA – Country Fair annually gives to a variety of local charities. These donations range from youth sports team sponsorship to major non-profit organizational sponsorship. With so many deserving non-profits in our hometown community, Country Fair wanted to make a larger impact. The Country Fair Cares program was created to assist 501 c-3 non-profit organizations with a pooled funding formula.
The inaugural Country Fair Cares program recently completed its six-month campaign on September 30. Country Fair selected five non-profit organizations to become a Country Fair Cares (CFC) partner. These partners include The ANNA Shelter, Emma’s Footprints, Crime Victim Center of Erie County, ServErie and Meals on Wheel – Erie. Country Fair committed a pooled fund with a minimum of $50,000, with each CFC partner receiving a minimum of $10,000. All Erie County Country Fair locations had one pump designated as the “CFC Charity Pump.” These pumps were decorated much differently than the other pumps as two cents per gallon was allocated to the CFC program. In addition, Country Fair hosted three coffee days whereas 50 cents of every hot drink purchased on these three days was added to the CFC fund.
Country Fair is excited to announce that a total of $134,203.46 was collected during this campaign! Each of the five CFC Partners will receive a check today for a total of $26,840.69! “On behalf of our employees, I’d like to thank our customers and community for this tremendous campaign as we more than doubled our goal. We’re extremely grateful for our community generosity as these funds will make a dramatic impact to our Country Fair Care Partners,” said Paul Rankin, Vice President of Retail Marketing Country Fair.
Country Fair received over 70 applications for the 2020 Country Fair Cares program. The partners selected will be formally announced by February 1, 2020.
